Håndværkerskolen i IfakaraHåndværkerskolen i Ifakara er en stor teknisk skole med alle faggrupper indenfor træ og metal og byggefagene repræsenteret. Det var derfor naturligt for Mellemfolkeligt Samvirke at placere væveprojektet i de eksisterende rammer da projektet i 1984 blev udarbejdet i et nært samarbejde med skolen. På denne måde kunne projektet drage fordel af den ekspertise indenfor træ og jern som var nødvendig ved fremstilling af væve lokalt. Skolepenge er nu den væsentligste indtægtskilde for skolen, der tidligere i høj grad levede af at udføre håndværk i byen. Savværket er også en del af håndværkerskolen i Ifakara. Samarbejdet med Kilangoro startede det med nedenstående forespørgsel, - siden er klinger og værktøj indsamlet af Axel Gomard kommer godt frem. Det lykkedes bl.a. at få doneret 8 savværksklinger, samt værktøj til skolen.

The Diocese of Mahenge is the project holder of the school and the school was built by Capuchin fathers 50's years ago for training young girls and boys the different skills. Also helping the people for repairing cars, building houses, electric installation and plumbing. St. Joseph Vacational Training Centre is in Ifakara town Kilombero District in Morogoro, region, Tanzania. The centre takes both girls and boys without considering one's colour or religious belief. At present we have 120 students of all sections which are masonry, carpentry, plumbing, civil draughting, motor vehicle mechanics and electric installation. The period of apprenticeship is three (3) years and after that are examined by the government of Tanzania in order to qualify the appropriate Trade Test certificate grade II. As I have mentioned before that the school was runned by the Capuchin fathers, now the fathers are no longer here and we don't have any assistance. The saw mill machine is the school support running project. Therefore we need support to any body if possible.
