AIDS/HIV

Elias fortæller om det første seminar afholdt i ICG regi:

About the seminar, it was not bad it was nice.People were happy to get the knowlege a specialy HIV/AIDS.We trained them tobe  the general Community Health Educator. It was the seminar of nine days, from 19-29 of june 2006. Katie and I were the facilitater of the seminar. Every participant have been given a package of books that he/she could use them as teaching aids not enough , every one was supposed to make his or her own teaching aids for drawing the pictures and short notes from the books we gave them. Every thing was made by using flip chats and marker pen.

These people are not paid because I have asked them to be the volunteers of I.C.G to the Community. we only offer them cold drinks like soda na maji and biscuits. at last they got their certificate of complehension that they can use any where and any time may be for his/her profit if she or he will get a chance of being invited with other company or NGOs as educator and get paid there. But still, once ICG need its people, they have to come. The drinks offer donated by US peace corps and some amount from ICG but this is only kidogo. From now over every participant who got the certificate he/she have start educating the community emedietly.

This was as the first target group of members from ICG and IPHA+.And the second target group is young people from town, teachers from P/schools and secondary schools, people from health centers, the local Government leaders and other women small groups and young peoples Camps.
The target here is to give the HIV/AIDS knowlege to at least 50 or 60 people who we can help each other to make the Ifakara community to understand and may be to change the behavior.

We have finished with 22 people, so i am thinking about having another grouip of people of the same number or more.but i have to convince them as how i did to the people of IPHA+ that they will not be paid for their participation. If i will succeed, i'll let you as well.
